NEET PG 2025 Overview

Everything you need to know about NEET PG 2025 and how it impacts your medical career.

A brief explanation of the exam

NEET PG is the gateway for postgraduate medical courses like MD, MS, and PG Diploma in India. It’s held annually and is essential for any MD/MS graduate who wants to pursue a specialization in clinical or non-clinical fields.

Who conducts it, who is eligible, and its significance

Conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), NEET PG is open to candidates who have completed or are completing their MD/MS internship within a specified date. It’s a critical step in a doctor’s journey, as it determines eligibility and admission to thousands of postgraduate seats in government and private medical colleges across the country.

Overview of how counselling is done

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for seats across all India under Government Institutes, Deemed and Central Institutions. State counselling authorities manage counselling for state quota seats. The process includes choice filling, seat allotment, and joining at the allotted institute. Counselling has Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Round. Your admission depends on your rank, choice of subject, college preference, and category.
